🌿 From My Heart in a Heavy Hour đźŚż

Normally, this space is where I share reflections on peace, stillness, and the beauty of nature. But today, my heart is too heavy and my spirit too stirred to remain silent. Yesterday’s events shook our nation, and they weigh deeply on me.

Charlie Kirk’s death was tragic enough. But what pierced my heart most was that it happened live, on the very platforms so many of us use daily. And instead of reverence for the gravity of life lost, I watched as TikTok, Facebook, and other spaces filled with laughter, cheering, celebrations, and calls for even more violence.

It is truly disgusting. Truly heartbreaking. And it is proof that what we are facing is not simply political division. This is spiritual war.

More Than a Public Figure

It’s easy, in a culture obsessed with debate, to reduce a man to a headline or a political label. But let us not forget:

  • Charlie Kirk was a human being—created in the image of God.
  • He was a husband—and now his wife must carry the weight of grief and continue on without his presence, his partnership, and his support.
  • He was a father—and his children will never fully know their father, nor experience his love and guidance as they grow.
  • He was an individual who stood boldly for his beliefs in God and in Jesus Christ—and for that he has been martyred before the watching world.

When we lose sight of the humanity of those who pass, we dehumanize ourselves. To mock death is to step into darkness. To celebrate tragedy is to align with evil, not justice.

This Is Bigger Than Flesh and Blood

Ephesians 6:12 tells us:
“For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against rulers, against authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.”

Those laughing and calling for more violence are not our true enemies. They are being used by the Enemy. The real battle is against the forces of darkness that twist hearts, blind minds, and make evil seem good.

A Righteous Anger

I will not hide it: I am angry. But it is not the kind of anger that destroys. It is the righteous anger that rises when God’s image is mocked and human dignity trampled. Jesus Himself displayed this when He overturned tables in the temple. There are moments when holy anger is not only justified but necessary.

  • I am angry that tragedy is being treated as entertainment.
  • I am angry that people would rather cheer death than mourn life.
  • I am angry that violence is being applauded instead of resisted.

And yet—even in anger—we are called to stay rooted in Christ. Anger without love becomes sin. Righteous anger must lead us to truth, prayer, and courage.

Words of Comfort

My prayers are with the Kirk family in this unspeakably painful time. May God hold them close, surround them with His peace, and sustain them with His promises.

  • “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.” (2 Corinthians 1:3–4)
  • “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” (John 14:27)
  • “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.” (Psalm 34:18)

How We Must Respond

  1. Repent and examine ourselves. If bitterness has taken root in us, we must surrender it back to Christ.
  2. Pray without ceasing. For the Kirk family, for our nation, and even for those deceived enough to mock death.
  3. Put on the armor of God. We cannot fight spiritual battles with worldly weapons. Truth, righteousness, faith, and God’s Word are our strength.
  4. Be light in dark places. Where the world celebrates hate, let us live out love. Where social media glorifies violence, let us speak peace.
  5. Stand firm with courage. We do not excuse evil, nor do we shrink back. We defend the truth, protect the innocent, and remain steadfast in Christ.

Final Word

I know I may lose readers, followers, or even customers for writing this. But some things matter more than numbers. Some things matter more than approval. What matters most is truth—and truth must be spoken.

Charlie Kirk was a human being, a husband, a father, and a follower of Jesus Christ. To see his death mocked and applauded is evidence of just how deeply our culture has fallen into darkness. But I refuse to despair.

Because even now, the promise holds:
“The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it.” (John 1:5)

That is the hope I stand on. That is the Light I will not abandon. Even in sorrow, even in righteous anger, I will choose to stand with Christ—the One who conquers all darkness.

✝️ May we all have the courage to do the same.
